Broadcast Technology Limited (BTL) was founded in Hong Kong in 1986 as an organization to provide broadcasters and TV production facilities with broadcast equipments and services. The founder conceived the idea of establishing a professional firm that would provide the broadcast facilities with a "one-stop" engineering service.
In 1988, BTL expanded its engineering business to system integration, also established as a distributor of world-class broadcasting and telecommunications equipment in the same year. It took up consultation and system design work for large TV stations in China. BTL opened branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guangzhou.
On the growth and development of the company, BTL expanded its business activities in South East Asia, and setup a representative office in Myanmar. Some of BTL's high profile turnkeyprojects in Asia are Channel 5 of Union of Myanmar, ABC Channel 5 in Philippines, Jakarta ANTeve and Ch.7 in Indonesia, Ho Chi Minh City TV in Vietnam. From 2005, BTL extended its services to the Middle East and completed a number of system projects in Dubai and Egypt.
